THE ACADEMY IS fue una banda estadounidense de Pop Rock fundada en Chicago en el año 2003. Sus miembros originales eran: William Beckett (voz), Mike Carden (guitarra) y Adam T. Siska (bajo). Llegaron a lanzar tres discos de estudio y tres EPs en total: “The Academy EP” (2004), “Almost Here” (2005), “From The Carpet EP” (2006), “Santi” (2007), “Fast Times At Barrington High” (2008) y “Lost In Pacific Time” (2009). La banda anunció su separación oficial en octubre de 2011.

ABOUT A GIRL:

Es el primer sencillo del álbum “Fast Times At Barrington High” de la banda The Academy is. Fue escrito por el vocalista William Beckett junto a Mike Carden, y su lanzamiento se hizo el 15 de julio de 2008. Es una canción de género Power Pop y Pop Punk, con una duración de 3:30 minutos.
